help has anyone got a spare alternator and the adjuster for a 5m-ge motor, as my motor fell on it's side and broke the top mount on the alternator and bent the adjuster

Might be a good idea (rear that to say it IS A VERY GOOD IDEA) to make brackets up for the motor to mount the alternator up where the power steer pump is, and put the power steer pump down where the alternator was.
I got sick of pulling alternators out ( three triple-jointed hands, 4 arms a good bit of luck and a removed radiator to get to it when the motor is mounted). The method I used meant I could remove it in about 2 minutes as opposed to a 1 hour PITA job.
Also, the reason you have to pull them is they fill with mud all the time down there. Up on the top they hardly see the mud at all. You can't really see how I did it, but I used an angle grinder to shape a piece of 10mm plate to fit around the top corner of the exhaust manifold - I think it might be where the lifting hook was - and then ran two 'arms' off - one to a sleeve for the pivot, and the other you can see over the top as the adjuster. Went to Repco and got a couple of belts of the right length and hey presto.

Hi all, im wanting to purchase a 5mge alternator as well, bought a spare off trade-me but it was the flat belt drive model (now given it to monaro 427)
I need a vee belt drive one to take on the ORE trip to central otago as a spare in case my winch destroys mine, if you have one to sell or could just loan me one for the trip

I'll ask him when I call today and see if he can chuck it in the truck
