nissan terrano diff ratios???

Post by albundy »

94 V6 Nissan Terrano widebody LSd rear, 5 speed. Needing to replace the front diff secondary to smashed bearing. Having approx worked out the rear diff should be 4.35:1 or 4.4:1. Anybody can confirm this for me please as I need to get not only this but my rear diff head out and get the ARB airlocker fitted and all back in by xmas. Fun hey! :twisted:

Have a look at the trans axle code on the ID plate. (R/H inner guard near the corner from memory)

The last four digits will tell you which ratio:

HG43 = 4.3

HG46 = 4.6

HG48 = 4.8

I'm guessing it would be 4.3 :wink:

Hey Al
Ran into Jamie this morning whilst round at my workshop.
He reckons he will have the right ratio for your front diff, hes got a variety. He thinks yours will be a 4.6 but you will know that by now anyway.
He wants $200 for a front diffhead so give him a ring Automotive Parts in Rangiora 03 313 7216

Have a great Christmas and playtime down south. Sorry I wont be coming this year, alas I'm just too busy rebuilding a vehicle for a 2 week event in late January. :roll:

Hey, why don't you go the whole hog and replace both diffs with 4.8s & put some bigger tyres on it. Then you'll notice the difference.
