Paint job

Post by alvis »

Gidday people, i am wanting to get a full body off paint job done on my fj40. I have completed most of the rust repairs and am in the process of getting a price for blasting to bare metal and painting. I have only managed to get one rough estimate and it was for $8100 inc gst. I thought this price was expensive or am I just being unrealistic? . Has anyone here had this kind of process done professionally?

Cheers - Al

I think I'd be disregaurding the $8100 estimate for a paint job, the panel beater up the road from me said he could get a new roof and windscreen frame in from japan, take the rest of the rust out of my truck, rub it down and repaint it for $4-4.5k.

My trucks still sitting outside rusting away

He can do minor stuff but i've got another mate who can take care of any chassis work and the worse body stuff, he's a panel beater, pretty fussy with his work and cheap too.
