Stolen Hilux Wellington 29/02/2008 Reg xxxx

My god-son's hilux was stolen on friday 29/02/2008, 1990 or 1991 ish silver double cab, the rego's xxxx and Its possibly been trashed around the Hutt/Wainuiomata areas if anyone spots it?

Hey Jase, you don't want to believe everything ya see on TV.
Most of the front line staff work their butts of trying to cope with all the crap that happening out there.
They are under resourced and the Media always blow up the issue that will give them the most sales / screen time.
If you don't believe me buy yourself a scanner and have a listen to their radios for a bit.
Just look at the amount of resorces that were / still are taken up by the tragic deaths of the 7 people up your way over the last 24 hours.

In saying that I have no problem with giving the boys in blue a hand when you are lucky enough to actually catch them in the act by detaining them by using reasonable force until they turn up. (the definition of reasonable force is pretty loose if you don't actually break something)

But the thing to remember when you start beating up on these lowlifes is they so often have mates that don't play by the rules and you can find yourself on the receiving end when you least expect it.

well the cops have only ever helped us once since we lived in rotorua, and thats wen my uncle blew up our car in our backyard.

IT took the cops 2 weeks to respond to a robbery wen they broke into my mums resturant and stole 30 bottles of wine 2 laptops and a computer. ever since then we havn't botherd ringing the cops.

We have had motorbikes, cars, sterios,tv's,welders, helmtes, push bikes, dish washers, dryers, toys from a daycare stolen, fridges with food in them!, motors, car parts, all stolen from us, But The cops just aint do nothing here in rotorua no more, Like wen that 3 year old got tossed arround like a flipping rag doll the cops just gave the guys a tap on the hand told not to do it agian and like 3 months (or was it 3 years) in prison, They should let rotorua take to them with there fists not put behind bars where no one can get to them!, there supoes to be getting punished not saved by the cops!.

Which proves the point realy .... not enough cops and a legal system that is too soft on the crims.

How do you think the cops feel when they spend weeks or months catching some prig, to have him get off 'cause he had enough money or worse used legal aid to pay for a fancy lawyer to get him off.
And if he doestnt actully get off he gets to to holiday camp for a few weeks / months ...
Think about it the reason prisons are full is because people are not afraid to go there. It is not a punishment any more.

The legal system is screwed and you have the government to blame, they make the stupid laws and waste all our taxes
