Hi
Have finally bought myself a dorkland 4wd (being a dorklander), a challenger, and have had a few blasts up muriwai beach and loved it.
Anyway my school boy question is - what is the deal with driving on the beach and the short/long term effect from the salt water? What are the best options for stopping my challenger turning into a rust bucket?
Cheers
Dan
A real newbie question
Truck Tub
Find yourself the cheapest water blaster anda tin of zinc coating for all your bolts to stop them rusting so you can get them off, any repco for that, and woolworths continually have specials on $49 water blasters that i use and they are all you need and a regular blast is as good as anything.

;-p
what he said... or if you cant be arsed waterblasting under your truck, give it the old fashioned fresh water clean by finding a good creek about knee deep and have a good play around in it with your truck after your run out on the beach
more fun

If you already know everything, DON'T ask bloody questions!!

Hi Andrew, just 3 simple questions here.
Are they really as good as you say?
What brand are they?
Do they have the ability to accept suds?
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

hey yea as the others said they are good, couldnt tell you what brand it is cause ive had it that long (actually a flatmates) and we use it at least a couple of times a week on our cars and trucks. Takes soap suds, and never had any trouble with it.
Fish o line is that what they used to call it? Fish oil is what my friend told me to use on the inside doors and etc of my vechicles to stop them rusting where you cant wash becasue he lives 100m away from the beach. All i have to say to that is if you want any cars with worn out motors and broken other bits and pieces... something always expires one day.
If applied properly (and you can get odourless products) then they definitly prevent rust. Will it prolong the life of your truck, well theres many great ideas like that that ive wanted to do to my vechicles and at the very stage i get them all done, or ready to do, something else goes lol.
Hope this Helps, and dont spend to long preventing the inevitable just get out there and enjoy it!
