Toyota Hilux bush truck/crawler/beast
Toyota Hilux bush truck/crawler/beast
I am thinking about selling my hilux bush truck. I have always had a desire to enter the trials, and want to buy a trials truck. So I figured now is a good time to get on with it!!
Specs are
1980's hilux, early shape with square lights
Toyota 18r (this motor is very nearly stuffed, and I was going to put a commy v6 in, could still do it for extra $$)
Custom built 4 point cage. Designed so I could build an exo on to it, but never got round to it (another thing I could do for extra $$)
Custom 4 link rear supension. I spent hours and hours on this trying to get it right, and I think I succeded. No hop and it just bites in and climbs. It runs rancho rs9000x shocks.
Fuel tank remounted to the back
It runs 37" wranglers, but these only come pending on price.
Pajero rear diff (wider and so it has rear disc brakes)
This bad boy has fiddle brakes, they work really well
There is no windscreen or rear window, but it has doors. I planned to put them in perspex until I got a new cab.
I picked up a ln130 surf body for it. The plan for this was to cut it into a single cab and put it onto my chassis. At the same time I was going to do powersteering, coils up front and drop the commy v6 into it. After these mods I had thought about getting it reregistered and road legal (as the chassis still has a vin number and old cert plate). I was going to exo this body aswell.
I have decided I have way too many projects. I dont need a vehicle for every type of terrain, and I want to compete in the national trials. Very little money can go a long way on these hiluxes, but its the hours you need to put into them to get them to work really well (half arsing things works and is easier, but thats not how I operate).
I will put up some pictures on here tommorow. But if you are interested call me on 021431847 and make an offer/ask for more info. If no one wants her she'll have the go ahead to get the extra mods.
Cheers

Hey Tu's gotta ask man.....are you ever gonna slow down, you are one quick mind changing MF.
Seriously though....good luck with the trial's you will be a superb competitor a with "die hard" vehicle (which ever one you build) and "die hard" determination.
I wonder if you will ever find another half that can keep up though

It is the Green Hut
Green Hut at Rallywoods

Re: Toyota Hilux bush truck/crawler/beast
Ahh, thanks for that, but not the hut I thought it was, as I don't know where "Rallywoods" is, although I have heard the name before.

Depends mate. Would cost $400 for the motor + the labour to put it all in.
