Is it possible without butchering too much of the bumper. I assume the stock bumper reinforcing wouldnt handle anything bolted straight to it, although i havent got under there to have a look how thick it actually is. Or maybe if its too much hassle i'd be better off just getting a winch bumper for it tho i'd rather spend that coin elsewhere you guys know how it is

Winch Mounts?
Is anyone willing to share pics ideas or descriptions of a fairly simple to construct winch bracket? Please

You'd be better off getting a new bumper or making one to suit. The bars over the standard bumper like in the photo, make for a very poor approach angle, which will mean much more winching. An ARB bar or similar will improve approach angle and actually protect the truck, unlike the light alloy one you have that while it looks good, won't do anything when you need it. ie a tree.
Nissan Terrano coilovers, turboed VH45, Safari axles, and some other stuff.
Re: Winch Mounts?
Ditto. Keep in mind you can probably get one made up for the price of, if not cheaper then an ARB bar. If you go this way, you can actually bring the winch right back and up higfher under the plastic grill to improve your approach angles.

Re: Winch Mounts?
trucks that come with out a winch still have the holes for the winch mounts in the front chassis
89 safari, pto winch, 33x15 simexs. sliders,75mm lift . turbo intercoolered

Re: Winch Mounts?
thats what i am looking at also, remove my standard front winch mount and move it back further and upwards, would a body lift help out with space to mount?? i machined myself up some spacers but havent got round to fitting yet.
oh yeah, correct me if i'm wrong but a sheet of 6mm mild steel plate is around $130 - $150, so if you can pick up 1 and a few grinding and cutting discs, and have access to a mig welder you should be able to make up a pretty good bumper

Cheers for the ideas so far guys
What do the ARB ones usually go for? I seen one down at the local Fully Equipped, think it was an AliArc steel one but very similar to the ARB winch bar for $1600, any good? I could probably flick the old one off for a bit anyway..AliArc quoted me $2500 to $3k to make one to fit when I was looking at buying a MU.. but then I decided to buy the Safri
Imagine a good condition chrome bumper would be worth a bit too.
Actually prefer the look of the steel bars, the alloy ones look good on a shiny truck but the steel ones look better on a truck thats used for what it was intended for..I already scratched the cr*p outta mine down lake rerewhakaaitu (spelling) the other weekend lol.
Thats an old photo now about a month ago when I first got it, Its lifted and got 33s now and roof lights
Oh and how easy is it to shift the bumper up for a body lift? The bullbar mounts are in the way so i cant see exactly how the bumper is attached to the chassis

Re: Winch Mounts?
Yes a body lift will help in getting it higher nad more rearward.
