Are you an AA member?
Perhaps we could lobby the AA in regarding some of these land access leglislation issues if we have numerous members here...

Pay the extra $45? for premium cover - gets you and your vehicle home.
One of our guys had a diff problem in Whangarei about 8pm Easter last year - rang AA - their man said it was poked - 1/2 hour later a truck loaded up their 4wd - they jumped in beside him and they were trucked back to North Shore no charge.
Whereas - I blew a gear box in Ohakune - not being a premium member - my toymotor was trucked to my motel
had to hire a car - organise a truck to pick up the 4wd and deliver it to Clevedon and take the rental back to Ohakune
just a mere $600 later

Just renewed my membership this afternoon. Haven't used them yet but will come in handy one day.

Your in denial. I think its time for an intervention. I had better take all the booze you have in your household and keep it safe for you. Its for your own good

I have been for 11 years but am thinking about flagging it away as I've never used them. More often than not you fix it yourself or ring a friend.
I know the first day as a non AA member I'll need them though

That is what happened to me, I was a member and shortly after I let it flag, middle of the night, I broke down - and it wasn't a fixable thing either. However I still rang them, paid the membership fee at the side of the road and have never let it lapse again.
I have used them one other time, also a non-fixable, yet explainable, thing so it was good to get their input.
Like any form of insurance it is a necessary evil

Has anyone else noticed how the AA are very quiet on the price of petrol.
Maybe its because of there link with BP & they no longer want to rock to boat & risk loosing this alliance & the associated revenue from this alliance.
Edited for spelling

Re: Are you an AA member?
AA are not complaining about petrol prices because the US are paying $1.50 USD per litre at the pump, work in the freight and exchange rate and see what our fuel price could be! Our high dollar has hidden most of the additional cost but we may have a lot more to complain about soon.
Also the English were paying over 1 pound per litre at one point (not sure now) but ir can be and most likley will be a lot worse with the kiwi dollar falling.
Yes it is worse than it used to be but we can't really complain, only oil producing nations (they self subsidise) have not had price increases United Arab Emerates it selling fuel 19c /l but this is below cost.
