Hunting dog wanted

Post by nzhunter »

After my labrador died at xmas i'm after a new dog. Perferrably not a puppy, I've had a look at the spca and pound etc but everything is crossed with about 20 mongrel breeds. Also has to be good natured. Anyone know of any dogs people are selling/wanting to give away?

Thanks, Dan

Dont be so tightfisted!!

If I was starting my huntiong career all over again, I would spend the money and buy me a brown or black standard bred, (big bastard) bitch poodle.

Once, in a previous life, I had a miniature poodle, she was the best possum dog I ever saw, smart as a whip, great eyes, but had this mad tendency to course hares and rabbits!1 dunno what she would done if she had caught a hare, they were near as big as she was!! I took her out after deer once, but a miniature, at less then 500mmm high is far too short to hunt the native bush. I have known people using poodles for retrievers cos THATS what they are originally bred for and well as pointing deer.

Search "Lockley" on trademe, he's been breeding good pigdogs for a lot of years, I've seen some of them working real well when I used to be young, skinny and fit and go hunting

I take it you weren't wearing your man pants when purchased your miniature poodle?

Did you carry it around in your man purse like Paris Hilton?

Oh the images are to precious Bob

I got broad shoulders mate, I can take it.
I acquired the miniature poodle and a wife at the same time.

Dog got old, feeble, blind, deaf and incontinent.
Had to shoot her.
Divorced THAT wife.

Sometimes I think I got it arse about face.

Theres no way I'd fit into those shorts if I still had them, I found the old knife belt the other week and tried it on..... the end of the belt missed the buckle by 12 inches

Shit those belts must shrink something shocking when you put them into storage for a couple of years

Anyway.... enough of my shorts and good looks, back on topic now coz NZHunters still looking for a new dog

Yeah, and Dan lives in AKL too, I think, the zoo cant be too far away, not for a guy who hunts where he hunts anyway.
Are the hefferlumps in Wellington Zoo?
if so, that would be a change from AKL.
