1985 sj handbrake

Post by Big-AL »

i am having trouble taking the drum off of the back of the transfer case. do i need to undo the large transfer case output nut in the middle? or just give the drum a good whack?

thanks AL

Yep, you need to undo that nut. There is no flange under the drum, the drum is the flange.

By far the easiest way to undo is with a rattle gun.

yeah thats what i thought. a rattle gun is a good idea, any chance you know what size the nut is? i think a 1 1/8 just about fitted, so about a 26mm?
