70 series cruiser noisy steering

Have noticed my steering is getting noisy when turning and can feel something rubbing when turning the wheel at low speeds eg when parking. Any ideas. Was thinking power steering?

I have a power steering leak and mine is noisy until the vehicle is warm, or sometimes when the steering under load.

Maybe an obvious question, have you checked your power steering fluid level?

I also run 33s on a bj70 and have found that my tires can rub at full lock, I think on the inside of my guards.

Yeah, checked the power steering fluid theres still some left. doesn't do it once it's warmed up. Are there any grease nipples on the steering column as sometimes is feels like somethings rubbing as the steering straightens up.

I think the steering collums are usually a bit noisey, mine is, it bangs and clunks when I hit bumps and stuff, theres a thread on here somewhere about them...... I dunno if thats what your reffering to as your noise or whether its the steering componants themselves thats noisey?

My LJ71 does that...I just turn the stereo up louder..... maybe a banana skin down the steering column would fix the noise/rattle

Stereo! mines got the standard AM radio in it. Scored a workshop manual so will do some exploratory surgery on the weekend.
