They look like they might be an imitation of the good old khumo 833's (or was it 834's?)
I had the RT01's on my first zook, nice and soft and flexed well with the light truck. Have a set on the vitara (came with them) but am looking for a little something more.
I was one of the first to run them in the sth island and yes they are an awesome tyre, but I have to say once half worn they are shit. I Have fed this back to the Blairs tyre rep in CHCH and also they need to move away from the BFG type of bead, it is the worse design I have ever seen on a tyre, both from a kumho and BFG point of view. This is just my opinion though. Al
Bigbear asked this question more for me. He is running KL71 on his Escudo and yeah they are OK but thought there would be better options out there. I decided on the Wrangler to find that there is none of that size in the country and they are not bringing any more into NZ. So I decided on BFG, to find out yesterday that there are none in the country until July. Why are there not more of these size tyres around. There are plenty of V6 escudo's and granda vitara's becoming cheap enough to use offroad now but not enough tyre choice. I've just orderd some Coopers, Expensive but I'm doing a deal with the tyre fitters.

Will let you put your own arrows in Bubba..........
Make sure you get the Cooper STT's, as opposed to the ST's I could run them down as low as 6psi on my baby Mitsi Jeep and never knocked one off a bead. Ran them tubeless and never really took any extra care either. cheers
Mine on the Jeep were the new design and no worries with sidelings compared to any other I'm aware of. I also ran the old style TT and would say the improvement is mostly to the on road manners rather than in the mud, marginally and just noticeably better off road would be my opinion. The new style looks heaps better and that would have been the main driving force to change I reckon.
So what silverstone tyre fits? just went on there web site and there mud tyre looks like crap and there smallest 16" xtreme mud tyre is probably getting a little to big.

You can get them down to 31" There a Simex copy, I think the compound is a bit softer than simexes so they wear a little quicker.... well any agressive tyre is going to wear pretty quick anyway
Don't underestimate the original Silverstone MT117 pattern in either radial or bias-ply. They may look like a basic chevron pattern, but they really have some serious bite, clear well and wear really well.
My only concern with them on a 'zuk would be that they seem to work better on heavier trucks, which a 'zuk definitely aint!!
'89 3-Dr scud. 2" body lift, 2" suspension, Snorkel, 31x10.5's, Evil-daughter chose the paint-job.
A problem with putting bigger offset rims on the suzuki is that they then stick out too far. Our Escudos are our normal road use cars as well and they already have flared guards. Would look really stupid with even more flare extensions. Also where do you find 16" suzuki rims with a big offset. They don't even make 16" suzuki white steelies.
Pobably the best bet to get the offset you want is to get a set of decent 16' steelies, then get a good engineer to cut out and reweld the centre to the desired offset. and I DO mean a GOOD engineer!
Assuming of course, that you can find the right stud pattern.

Sorry mine are 15" rims from the older 413 type and have had the centres moved inwards.

LWB Grand Vitara (7 inch wide) rims push my 225's out nicely, zero chassis rub
Heath wrote:How are you finding the RT03's?
Great tyres, they even have side lugs, not sure its worthwhile upgrading from the RT01 unless they're worn, only went with the RT03 as they had no RT01's in the country after I put a hole in the side of one of mine.
Had those same Grand Vitara rims on my last v6 escudo. Looked good with road tyres. When I put 235/75/16 Muds on it got huge rubbing even when driving on road when you hit a bump. Actually cut the edge of the tyre on the outer guard. I must admit I did not have any lift in the suzuki. I would like to find another set for my road tyres if anyone knows where I could get some.
