We found William parked half way down Moonshine rd with no headlights.Formed a convoy with Tara 13 leading William in the middle and me coming up the rear. All was going well till we got to Pauatahanui roundabout where Williams motor died. So I was promoted to the lead position with a strop back to William and Tara at the back.We stopped at Paremata for a quick look at the dead V8 and decided to tow him to a mate of Willams at Tawa. Not sure what was wrong but think it was an electrical problem

I had an awesome day! Thanks to all for the organising and for the tips along the way - I learnt a lot 8)

I had the silver (read: matt grey) MWB BJ73 cruiser v6 and the stupid dog  . I was wrapped with how capable it was and was great to be able to trash it and not break it!! Well almost - It does look like I've killed the LF shock.

I'll be keen if there are more events or trips like this coming up. The gf loved it too so she will probably come too but is too scared to try drive it :P

I've got some pics so I'll post them up once I've up loaded them.

Oh and Cheers Jerry...the dog nearly clogged the bath up with mud afterwards!

I think Taz is right here but in my defense, it was there and it would have been a shame to not at least attempt it!

A HUGE thanks to the boys for helping me out and the final stretch tow.. shocking state of affairs!!!

My headlights died as I was nearing teh Rallywoods exit on the way out so handheld torch helped me get to the gate and along the road a bit, a local lead me to cell coverage which is where I was rescued - with some help from another mate we all made it to my old folks to offload - hope Tara 13 and Beer Cruiser made it home too (I saw there was Steinlager in your hands after the trip so will make sure I bring some along next time)

After the cruiser dried out and I replaced a couple of fuses I had not seen the night before it roared back into life - although I was not brave enoght to try headlights etc till I got home (just after dusk in the end).

Best I get the water blaster and multimeter out this week and have a bit of a looksee - too many unused bits of wire but a good excuse for me to start hooking up some accesory sockets and replacing some of crusty bits of wire.... maybe some BIG spots for up home where there are no street lights and lots of sheep/cows which to stray onto the road sometimes.

Thanks all got a great trip, enjoyed getting a chance to checkout some of the tracks - I assume jerry organised this so big thanks there (again).

cheers

W

What are you moaning about ... it was pretty much raw and unburnt, if Taz had been near it it would have been covered in 5 cm of charcoal  yes I was keeping my distance in case the effect was catching....
