nigh on 2wd all the way up to the crossroads from TeAroha side (last time i was there anyway). Minimum of a winch with Mud 33's+ (and multiple trucks advisable) for Katikati side.

went up 2 weekends ago with 'tintin'

it was raining most of the day. got to the crossroads no problems, but couldnt get up to the summit. it was too slippery - mind you i am in a standard wizard, dont have a locker.

was good tho. will get very slippery in parts with more rain (which we have had since then).

best person to ask would be tintin. he goes up there alot.

Shot up today and had a nosy. Still a highway, cutting up a very little bit in from a month or so ago.

First play area is as it always is.
Second play area is as slippery as always. Went up the rock climb, a couple of nice rocks that give the diff and skid plate a touch up. Turned around at the top of the roacks again, still way washed out from there up.
Summit was a cakewalk
Went down katikati side to the first boghole, track is still easily driveable up to there. It was 2pm by then so came back home.
Loop is still blocked off.

Track was pretty easy on the way up, bit chewed up when i came back down nothing major. The rain at the beginning of the week may have made it a bit more interesting tho :)

Yeah got em, but havent got em in. I've had them sitting in the lounge, all sparkly, glistening with a fine sheen of oil.... ahhhhhhhh.

Wifes transmission on her TJ went west again, thanks to a bloody leak in the transmission cooler, so the money i had set aside for putting the lockers in has been reassigned to that. (couldnt come out of her bathroom refit fund now could it!!!!)

That aside, I have just put one of my new diff skid plates on, the rear one is still en route from the US. And with a bit of skill and dexterity (im not doing it!!) I'll have my SYE and driveshaft in tomorrow.
