Patrol or 80 series shocks wanted

Post by meatc »

All right all you whale drivers. I know plenty of you have up graded your suspension. I'm looking for some crusier or patrol shocks for my toy.

Let me know what you got.

Either really. I'm building a zuki chassised, hilux axled, coil sprung, 1800 injected buggy. 8) Should weigh about the same as standard zuk but with over twice the HP

Looking for some heavy weight long travel shocks. Heavy weight so I can run light springs for flex and the shocks will slow the bounce and roll (a bit hopefuly :?:  ). Until I get the combination right I dont want to spend a fortune but am willing to part with the nessacary $. (preferably to someone here rather than TM.)

Got some OME ones off the saf which I replaced with TJM. Or I know a local 4wd shop with 80's shocks and springs sitting on the shop floor. I could ask if they would sell them if you like. Let me know.

Just after shocks thanks. spring would be way stiff. Using nice light but long car springs.

Hi,
I'd be interested in what long and light springs you have found, what are the dimensions, ie length, OD, wire dia and number of coils.

Thanks

Mitsi Mirage rears 330mm free length 10mm wire 100ish internal dia about 11 coils from top of my head.
have another pair which are 350 free an extra coil but same as above unknown what they are from.

Nissan skyline rears are evidentally quite long. And from reasearch I have done later model Honda accord wagon (98+) are like 390-400mm free with about 11-12 coils of 10mm wire.

Hit the wreckers with tape in hand. The ones you'll want will be worth next to nothing. Everbody replaces springs with lower aftermarket ones rather than second hand stock ones so there is little market for them. Also try drift sites for skyline/cefiro stuff.

what ya building?

Wanting to put coils all round on my Surf, looking to build some coilovers out of some 15" travel Ranchos I have got, will most likely some sort of dual coil arrangement.
Thanks

Thanks for the replys. sorted some hilux rears locally. Turns out they are only about 1/2 inch or so less travel then 80 series.

Cheers :D

Hi Worthog,
I could be interested in your rears for my front, what model are they off and dimensions would be great if you have them.
Where are you located.
Thanks
