Sway Bar on 92 Surf

Post by penetrator »

Hey guys, just noticed the truck was a bit loose on cornering sometimes and after looking underneath found that the mount holding the sway bar to the rear axle has snapped one side

Could i just remove the sway bar completley ? Is this legal and would it be better offroad anyway?

Or does anyone have one of these mounts lying around they would want to sell?

Take it off and go for a drive to see if you like the handling, if you can handle the extra sway then throw it away, you shouldn't get pulled up at warrant time.

This is quite common on Surfs, I've done two on my truck in 4 years. Any wrecker can give you a replacement - never been bothered to pull it off altogether.

I found it was cheaper to get a genuine one from gwds than what it was gonna be mates rates from my local wreckers. Its crasy how sometime genuine parts are cheaper!!!
