If you're REALLY keen... we have a working bee to get the bunting and markers laid out for the Winch Challenge next weekend, and will be looking for volunteers to test drive the routes. We'd be happy to have someone who doesn't know the tracks - it's too easy to overlook a wrong turn option when you already know where it should go. Also - there's always a demand for marshals if you're at a loose end over Queens Birthday weekend (Sunday). The venue is off a side road near Okaramio. PM me if you're interested.

9-10 am would be good.
Do you want to head up the Maungatapu (better in the wet IMO), or the Appleby? We could go for a spin up the Moutere?
Your call, though the Appleby or Moutere would suit me better as I have to get away mid afternoon for one of my kids birthday partys.

i dont know any of the moutere so that could be a plan.... appleby will just end up with us having to pull out surfs fitted with road tyres (and yes, all different ones), just like the last three weekends in a row... :?

Photos are up in the Moutere hills, most of the area has been recently logged so is still closed off, the bog is in the bottom of a small gully just off the side of the main road.
