Terrano 1993 lack of fuel light

Drained my fuel tank the other day to get rid of any nasties & wondered why no fuel light came on, so I took the dash out to find no fuel light bulb fitted, and when I put one of the other ones in, it didn't light up. The trucks a 1993 turbo diesel auto terrano import, LBYD21. I would have figured that these trucks would have a fuel light as a standard fit, but I guess not. Anyone know for sure if this is the case, or do I need to investigate further?

I have a 91 terrano and have the same problem except mine lights up when you turn the key but not when you run out of deisel ( voice of experience) so im looking forward to see if its the same or similar issue.

Saw Mine come on for the first time ever today! $115 in diesel later it was off!

So a 94 Terrano with the face lift interior has one.

Yeah, my mates got a 95 facelift model & his fuel light works, anyone got a spare fuel tank sender to check out the wiring for it? Why would they put a light receptical in the dash and not use it? Mines an import so maybe the 1st owner couldn't afford such a luxury as a fuel light, but couldn't live without electric mirrors....!
