Hawkesbay Tracks

Post by bigbear »

Hi, is there any well knowing tracks worth coming down for a look at. Half day or full day outing would be great not including the 3hr 4wd track getting out of gisborne  Also nothing extreme do want to make it home.

it would be great to see you guys up here, you seem to have it well sorted in welly, would be keen to get down there for a play again, i was based at trentham a few years ago a we used to use a few tracks in the haywoods for training.yes we have some good tracks here but access is hard to get usually its better to go with a club, but i have been into some of the old forestry tracks, they can be fun. again access is the main issue.

Na not hard, as for which club that depends on your truck and attitude
"Twin City's" is the family shinny club, not that all there runs are conservitive  there's a few in the club that like to play hard, there hard runs are invite only sort of thing... but there normal runs are open to the public :? think there may be a temp membership fee of $5 and they limit it to 3 runs before you have to join
I think there trip list is online... have a hunt off the NZ4WDA website I remember someone saying theres a link to there site there
The other club is the "H B Club" and is the more extreme, is where the balk of the local 4WD compeditors are 8) and as you can imagine they do like to play  there is also some big personality's in this club   they do have club runs and events but they also tend to do more "invite only" runs but if you want challange then these are the guys to talk to
We also have a couple of local play areas, nothing to write home about but can be fun.... guppy rd in Napier and riverlands out Havlock Nth
ORE Ass also has a small presence here( ya talked me into reinlisting Bob  ) but at the moment there is no one planing any runs... when I've got the lada running I'm gona jack up a play day but this will be more for me to learn the truck and will be from a trails perspective 8)

Hey Reece be keen to get out with the local guys from here, but have given up on the local clubs  not enough of the good runs,
happy to take the truck out any time, any where. maybe a visit to Rallywoods could be planed
you may need to get going on that lada mate, trials start soon,
let me know if you need a hand.

No worries we'll have a chat about it next time you rock up to the shed

You better enjoy it aswell. Took hours to get the carbs sorted this morning and ended up putting on my spare set as the ones from the jetboat are probably tuned for a jetboat, and didnt actually work onroad
