still tinkering with the g finding a few minor issues and then having to work ways around them did have a bit of good luck though measured my front shocks and realised they are the about the length i need in the back but the spacer for the bolt through the eyes were different 10 minutes with a makeshift press and the spacers were swapped over and now they are in place
now got to get 4 brake lines made for the front 2 shocks for the front and a new exhaust system and we should be rolling

That sounds like a good plan.So how do I do that.Just drill out old studs amd retap to 10mm?

Yep, the only thing is it needs new cone washers for the 10mm bolts and I cant remeber where you can get them from. I think Madaz did the swap though. Also see if you can get bigger dowels to put in (I cant remember if the 40 series had any), if it did then they're probably broken now

Well I worked on my truck till midnight on friday night getting the turbo off cause it was squeling like a slipping belt as soon as the thing got up to presure, and it is fubar. took into shop to ask about a rebuild kit and was told not likley to be available as not may people bother to rebuild. got road tyres for a run to New Plymouth next weekend but now need to find a turbo. so if any of you have a spare CT26 lying around that is not rooted send me a pm. seems the old girl can cook and keep going but the turbo does nor like getting over heated.........
If you follow me in the bush you must be mad cause I'm plain CRAZY !!!

Well I got the head off ... the upside is we believe that the problem is as simple as stretched bolts ... As it was torqued down correctly when it was reassembled and when I went to take them out they were far too easy to undo.
As you can see there is obvious blow out on three of the pistons.

Spent pretty much all of sunday afternoon making these.

Image

What for? To fit here

Image

To hold this.
Image

Painted them last night and fitted this morning. Happy with result. Made it lockable while I was at it so I don't loose it.
Image

Also had to shift the number plate forward as jack is now right in front of its old mount.
Image

Decided against fitting it to the spare on the back. I do have a mount for there but had a loan of a jack in the past and and mount broke (poor welding) a quick fizz would fix it but decided that I have plenty of space there at the front and its more secure.

Finally got my air system re-plumbed and running. I have now removed the secondary air reservoir from behind the drivers seat along with pressure switch and locker solenoids. The solenoids now reside in the body cavity next to the rear seat, the lines through the floor are no longer poly, but now steel bundy tube, meaning I can fold up my rear seat, carry passengers and/or my dogs without fear of the locker solenoids/airlines and wiring being damaged. Just have to mount the secondary locker pressure tank somewhere now.
No matter the problem, the answer is always give it more gas.......

Hope you have more than just those tags holding that number plate fweddy. Otherwise the first decent water crossing you do will turn the whole lot inside out. The Hi lift brackets look super sexy though 8)

Great afternoon out with Nstg8a, his new Safari makes most of the tracks look easy, while the 'zuk struggles through on the 31's.

I ended up with a smashed grille and torn snorkel-mounts, but still better off than the truck with a stuffed panel and broken driveshaft!

Got a strong suspicion that next weekend will be spent mainly in the garage.

Yeah thanks rockhound. Numberplate mount was a quick hook up to get it showing, (as it was had to do a trip without it!) Its going to need a more substantial mount before facing bush, and I havn't added water to the equation yet either! Makes sense to make it solid now (soon ) than eventually fall off! As it is its going to cope with a fair bit but time and nature throw all sorts at you on the trail.

Like the loose branch (about 4 mtrs long) sitting on the track the other day, I brushed past it and it slid up, went through the bullbar and between the bars and bonnet, fired straight up in the air and flung off the side. Was an impressive scene from the drivers seat and fortunately did no damage.
