Hiya BigK,

If you're talking about the Nth Range Road in Manawatu...

Don't know what it was like years ago but it is pretty easy these days. Veiw is great but I reackon I could get my wifes Nissan Serena around it if she'd let me try...

The windfarm development has smoothed it out a lot on the northern end and the windfarm development is about to figure large on the southern end also.

Cheers,

Phil

Went up there this morning. What a massvive change up there. Last time i went up there you could only get from the Pahiatua Track through to the windmill developments. Now you can get all the the way through to Balance. Theres a couple of gates to go through but it's all sign posted and the like. Super easy and have no problem taking a 2wd car through there.

just had a quick look on the budget smaps.

do you go in off the pahiatua track and come out on hall block road onto gorge road at the gorge and I'm lost as to how you came out at balance as that looks like a complete circle from the pah track road ????

could you do it on your own with no winch

etc etc etc

Drove it a couple of weeks ago, would be more than happy to take a 2wd car thru. Still has a couple of off track interesting options for those inclined

yep either in from pahiatua track and come out hall block road or vice versa. Just reffered to it as ballance because just up the gorge road a little way is the ballance cafe.

Wife and I went up there today. It was a nice, easy drive. Was slippery in places with plenty of little muddy bits, but nothing a novice couldn't manage.

Got the crusier all muddy then went down to the Manawatu River to wash it off.
