88 LWB Safari Rattling problems

Post by popo »

Hey Guys I have had my TD42 Safari for a year now , and I know rattling is normal on these vehicles. Sometimes when the vehicle is idling and I turn the car off I feel the whole vehicle shaking and most rattle comes from underneath. Has anybody else experience this ???. I am thinking of replacing the gearbox and engine mounts.

Hey Dude,

My Safari has got a rattle too! I was going to look at engine mounts etc too but all it was, was the bash plates underneath flapping round. Some times its easier to over look the simple things. I thought my rattle was very expensive sounding but it was easily fixable. Hope this helps.

Cheers

If they don't rattle, they are broke. Nah only joking to some degree. Most probably and egine mount. Get in there with a jimmy bar to see if they move.

Engine mounts and trans mounts would be a good bet AFTER you have mad sure everything is done up and the exhuast hasn't bent and is touching something.
