headers/exhaust and gearbox

Post by danielroper »

Hi there

My 1984 110 is currently undergoing a transplant of a 1997 4.6 RR engine with Webber 500 carbs and intake manifold. Does anyone have recommendations on headers and exhausts systems to extract maximum performance? Also i currently have the standard 4 speed gearbox with overdrive and am thinking i should upgrade to a 5 speed while it is having the motor changed. Which are the most reliable?

Would of thought you would get more power and better fuel economy leavin the fuel injection on
Lt95 4 speed (if thats what you have) would be stronger than the 5 speed

yeah go for a auto with manual center lock specially if going bigger tyres, and it looks like a set of gene headers on trademe and efi so dont have to worry about extreme angles, could be a nice set up for offroading

Stag are putting the engine in for me and Morris was adamant that carbs would be the better way to go. I'm not sure why maybe easier/cheaper to setup? It's not for hardcore offroading more hunting/beach/mud. Thats why i was thinking 5 speed would be good for getting around.
