its between westport and charleston about 15 min up the coast road the back side of the hill where u go into tailings just over the top of the hill turn left and go dowm the track ( these directions are from westport ) hope u have a winch lol there r places that u will need it if u venture thru the old skidder tracks up there :twisted:

smiths clearing ... to get to it u travel to the top of the karamea bluffs there is a slip at the top u turn left there and carefully negotiate the track ( at the bottom is smiths clearing ) it is a historical farming site so if u go down there please keep to the existing tracks thnx.......... if not sure of directions me phone numbers are on here :mrgreen:

Thanks for that,yeh got a winch,also diff locked back and front, also heaps of recovery gear which i seem to use a lot ....lol..

Hey OVERSZ,i met you many years ago,i guess you wouldn't remember,i think you may have just built your wagon,it was on a readers trip,i was in a very modefied MU and we were up a rocky creek playing around...lol..,4WD Upgrades were there as well

Never forget a Trip. There were only 3 of us with Balls enough to head up that creek Shingle Scree. You were one of us. I slit a tyre that I found was leaking at the Pinacles. Looks like youve seen the light and got you self a truck. Cheers

Yeh the Cruiser really is a Cracker,mind you the old MU did me really well for 7 years and is still going well,it had heaps done to it though .Had to get a bigger truck as we now tow a 25ft caravan all over the Island [ 4x4ing ]
Going to check out those couple of tracks out posted on here when i get a bit of time
