A driver was saved after plunging 130ft down a cliff in his car yesterday.
And the 42-year-old man's dog also lived, despite the pair of them being thrown from the Vauxhall Frontera 4x4.
The motorist suffered two broken legs but was rescued after a yacht sailing nearby heard his desperate screams.
Coastguard officer Pip Hall said the man, and his New Zealand sheep dog, were lucky to be alive after the crash.
The driver was airlifted to hospital by helicopter.
The pet managed to scramble to the top of the 200ft cliff at Chapman's Pool, near Swanage, Dorset.
Mr Hall added: "The driver is an exceptionally lucky man."
What would the outcome have been if they were not thrown out ?
Was the driver wearing a seat belt ?
So many questions ...
There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.
