IMPORTANT. CHECK THIS OUT!!!

Post by Nailz »

Now forgive my ignorance if this has already been a topic on here but, the other day one of the jokers up at Bunnings told me about this thing called BROWNS GAS, Hydrogen power for vehicles, CHEAP to build, install, and save up to 80 percent on fuel.
Worth a look team. Im buying one as soon as I get back from my holiday.

generally speaking its a lot of crap.

plenty of interest about it but absoulutely no remotely decent info about it. just heaps of idiots trying to con peole into buying expencive kits.
some of the few decent bits from homebuilders shows its more complicated than they say, returns are minimal if any and very suspect about doing damage to motors.

save 80% on fuel.......totall bullsh*t ! ! !

Bwahahahahahahahaha hahahahahaha hahah ha, ohhhh, that is just killing me bwahahahahahahaha

This is even funnier than the electric super charger thread

Ok guys, can anyone tell me what water consists of????

Thats right 2 Hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, writen as H2O. Hmmmmm, wonder where the mysterious browns gas got its HHO from then eh?? H2O = HHO just written wrong.

As anyone that did science in primary school should know, it takes more energy to split these atoms apart into their seperate hydrogen and oxygen atoms, than is released from the combustion of the hydrogen. (if that wasn't the case we would be all running around in water fueled cars)

So to say that by splitting the water into hydrogen and oxygen atoms through electolysis and then saving you money on fuel is bollocks, as it uses more energy to split the water into its seperate atoms than what you get back from combusting the hydrogen atom.

Much like this wireing diagram shows below,

You take power from your battery, to the key, from the key to the windscreen wiper motor, then add a fuseable link to a jar of grandmas pickles, then run a black wire back to battery. Simple, you now have a browns gas system in your car:

Interesting comments!

Those for and against have you had any experience with it? Results?

Just interested as I've been reading up on HHO - it has quite a history and seems distinct from H2O although made up of the same basics.

The science behind it looks ok on paper, I personally have no results and have done no experimenting but do know some one who has a kit but I'm not sure that he's really got to the point of testing it out properly.

I'm not prepared to give it the ups or downs till its proven - sure it might be a pickle jar but don't some of us use garden edging on our trucks?

Keen to know what experience any of you have on it. I've not read about 80% savings - more like a 30-50% with some results showing up to 75% on diesels. I was concerned about the damage risk but after reading more on it it doesn't seem an issue - again can only really comment after experience.
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

on paper its not impossible but certainly doesn't look ok. preigntion and knocking is a real risk. one thing a lot fail to mention is when the water warms up it flows more current which makes more gas but also warms it up even further making even more gas. so to control gas flow (and safety factor) temp control is an issue.

one of the better bits of info.... http://flapdoodledinghy.com/HHO_generator.html

will i make one?
no, i do not have a good motor to waste. no point useing a crappy motor to try it on because results will never be conclusive.
also most sites on the subject are dodgy as. when you have nothing but crappy sites with nothing but obvious misinformation trying to sell the kits it bleeding obvious that its a scam. eg the site posted in the first post is bleedingly obviuosly full of BS, purly designed to suck in idiots.

even the item that was on TV3 the other night was highly suspect. mmm.....the guys got far better mileage than they expected, hang on these guys have been running it for some time now and they would now exactly what fuel mileage it does. suddenly it surprises them by being a whole lot better ?? i think not. more likely they stuffed up the measuring of the fuel. human error is probably where all their fuel economy came from. its not uncommon, many tests have found good results because the people testing them want the good results. what usually happens is they subconsciously favour the test to the results they want. thats why blind testing is important, you have to remove the human factor out of it.

notice that a some sites say that to get fuel saving you need to lean the motor out when useing the kit. of course thats going to save fuel, lean any motor out it will save fuel with or without any fancy kit.

I still can't understand why the hell having your windscreen wiper motor connected to your ignition would help anything?
Has anyone tried direct exhaust injection? I've heard about it on some forums, I reckon it would be better than brown gas....
