Re: hilux rear diff what ratio?
check out the body tag and note down the axles codes and post them up here and guaranteed that within 5 mins you will have your answer
my bet is either 4.3 or 4.8

It is most likely a 4.55 ratio if it is a diesel. 9 teeth on the pinion an 41 on the crown but it could well have been changed to a 4.8 if the person was running bigger tyres.
If it is a 2.2 petrol std was 4.8 ratio

solid axle rear, but independant front?? 2lt (2.4 d/t)engine? should be 4.3 some even came with lsd's. check that axle plate
and let us no. (will be something like g284)
I did read somewher that auto ones were meant to be 4.3 and manual ones 4.1 havent seen 4.1's though.
Although if you think they have been changed from factory the only way to find out if open them up
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experiance!
Re: hilux rear diff what ratio?
solid axle rear leaf sprung independent front and it is manual i think and its a 4.2 t/d but il try get the axle plate. and i dont think the hilux has ever been offroad as the timing belt snapped in the engien from day to day use. thanks
