good trip to the extreme 4wd, a couple of new trucks there and of course the top trucks, interesting hazards complete with water holes, hill climbs and of course roll overs, Brian's V12 powered landrover, that is said to have over 300kw at the wheels, and going by the ways Brian peddled it, it has that and more, Phil baylis was doing very well in a fj40 with a 302 ford, the course was damp with the odd rain shower to keep things interesting, the trials trucks there generally have a shite load of power. good day and btw skid nice bourban!!

tomorrow is pull motor and box out of truck and separate and measure up for new auto, and of course walk thru the center of the vehicle with a 9" grinder, remove fuel tank, floor seats, fire wall and anything else that looks to heavy :D

Seems like it will be another weekend wasted. Spending time with the missus (not so much of a waste) and stuck inside.

The rain is just driving me insane now. We have burst of clear weather but when I get my gear ready it hoses down. I thought I would just put up a tarp and lump it but the rain is flowing down the drive straight under the wagon and I need to be laying down to get at a few bolts.

I guess I will continue to surf the net for fantastic ideas on what I can do next to my toy. I would prefer to be out making it run but you know how it goes...

Of course when I get my rule book for the trials series I can go to town with my book of possible tricks (more like throw them all away). Cant wait for them to be avaliable again.

join the club,

weather is absolute shite,

so I decided the rain could clean the VX on its own whilst I stay inside with my blankie and the heat pump going and turn my hand to some baking in between movies on sky

took the sump and oil pump off the g after my little incident last week
the shaft on the drive for the pump was bent and the housing is stuffed
but noticed on closer inspection that one of the gears on the oil pump had rust on it and the housing had some rather deep grooves so maybe this is a blessing in disguise
mind you still got to get a price for a new oil pump yet

Had a great weekend, went away on an overnight trip up to some of the high country lakes, yea it was very wet and very cold but that doesn't stop us having fun. There was alot of mud and even a bit of snow. Hopefully get some pics off one of the guys.

managed to finish installing front locker on Saturday and rebuilt front end, now just have to re asseble rear brakes bleed system, remove recovery gear box out of the back and build new one to hold air tank and compressor and hook up air, then install new 12v power supply to run every thing. also have to remove my anti invesion shackles and replace standard ones as failed my wof for modified suspension???? stupid boy racer laws are a pain in the arse. told the wof guy that they are heavier and safer than standard but got told sorry modified is modified and that if I want to keep them I need to get cert. which I was planning on but not till I can afford drop shackles for the rear and a nice new set of Rancho adjustables or eq. :( I think they should make a partial cert process so the average kiwi who builds a toy over time can get things signed of as you go rather than re cert every time you change something.

Interesting how they all have different opinions, when my repower was certed my anti inversion shackels (amongst other things) were noted down on the cert but he told me they didnt require certifying and he had put them down as a declaration so they would be covered if they changed any regulations? Dunno if thats correct or not but thats what he told me?

Despite that I always got WoFs with them before I had any certifying done?

yeah seems to change weekly, the funny thing is I went in on my 35" tyres and they said nothing.... will take it back on road tyres anyway just incase they decide to notice now.... Hardest thing is if you look on the Lvv website and on the LTSA site there is nothing in either as to any guidline for lifting vehicles, only lowering. Was told by WOF centre to blame the boy racers for the new law changes. looks like I will have to start cruising in my 4x4 on friday nights and see how many br cars I can use for rock crawling practice...

Finally got the (bl**dy expensive) rebuilt engine into the daughter's truck. It actually even started and ran! Should be re-WOF'd and registered, on the road by next weekend.

Don't you just love the look of a bright, shiny new donk?

swapped out the shackles and got my WOF yesterday now to swap them back... hooked up dive tank to arb gear re wire electrics and go play. Funny thing about WOF is that once I replaced shackles with standard length ones had an inch between springs and bump stops. stupid boy racer laws.... Have heard the next thing to be under the WOF gun is speed ratings on tyres to match manufacturer speed ratings of the cars.... so people on SAT type tyres could be the next ones to have trouble come next WOF time.

Added this to the fleetImage from off of trademe for less than the value of the remaining RUCs. Gotta have a good win occasionally. One or two minor fixups and a couple of new tires and we're in business.
