Some of you maybe aware that my surf packed a sad a while back and thus I can't afford to take it on this trip (pretty much its farked) so I've opted to go for the WAY cheaper and more WAY more fun option of taking my LR on it. The only way this is possible if someone is able to hitch me up from the campground to the start of the track and back again. I will have a tow vehicle of sorts (to be sorted yet, but shouldn't be an issue) to get the beast over there, its just from the campground to the start and end I would need a two. Naturally gas and beer would be provided  That would also mean that two bodys (mine and marks) would need to be transported in any vehicle as well, if there would be an available seat etc. This is the last trip ill be doing in the south island for a very very long time as I'm in the process of moving to welly so any help would be gratefully appreciated in staying on this trip.

Considering the fuel consumption of my truck, it may cost alot, but if I have my towbar sorted I'll tow ya...

Smokey, If the alternate option for the Friday isn't great, I don't mind parking the prado if we have to.

Just gives me an excuse to go out on my birthday (30th July), If the mrs approves that is...

Team updates. I have had to make some minor changes to the teams secondary to a vehicle not being able to make it. They are now as follows:
Team A:
Richard + Janet ( trip movie maker) Hilux (team leader)
Paul D + (and girlfriend) Prado
Jas + Chopper Cruiser
Smokey + John Cruiser

Team B
Myself + Rude (mate from Aussie) Safari (Team leader)
Bill + Mark (Rick's mechanis)+ Grant ( Mark's mate) + Rick Prado
Nathan ( Mark's mate) + 1 (not sure of name) Prado

Team C:
Tim + Rob Hilux/Surf (Team Leader)
Mike + Mark Landy
Quadracer + ? Suzuki
Rick (pommie)+ mate Hilux

Rick Crosbie won't have his Jeep ready in time and seen the surf is for sale he won't be taking that. I need a passenger seat for him. If anyone can help out let me know.

Hi Al & All

Lucy and I will be heading over to Ikamatua on Thursday night to catch up with Richard and Janet, so we will meet up with you guys at Jacksons or on PRS radio, channel 11?

Pradozer is all straight, tidy and shiny and all windows accounted for.

Should be a good trip, Pradozer all ready to light the fuse and go

Cheers

Hi Paul
Extra gear required. Spare window , hammer and dolly and massage oil.

On a serious note. does anyone else besides me in the A team have a chainsaw ?
After the heavy snow this weekend there could be quite a bit of windfall.

Keep our fingers crossed on the Grey river. Today is fordable at 2200mm at Waipuna , 2 day,s ago was 3200mm.

It will be a good weekend regardless.

Cheers Richard

Thanks Fitzy.
I have just got off the phone to the Fergusons at Waipuna. They haven't had much snow but said it is very wet and cold. No problem about crossing their land.

I've got my chainsaw, new bar and chain, all recently serviced big time. I have edited my last post as we have had two more people pull out so there are two spaces if anyone is keen. Looks like Bill will carry Rick. I will have my back seat clear if anyone wants to move around vehicles, bit cramped in there though. Rude rang last night, keen as mustard. Slowly getting all the jobs done on the truck.

Good to see everyone well prepared and ready to light the fuse.

When I mentioned about chainsaws because of wind fall I didn't mean everyone need one unless you want to bring one.

I think the A team needs two, even just one more would probably do as long as they are a decent size because most of the work is clearing the rubbish.
Who ever has the biggest one would determine who brings one but we dont want to end up with none.

Only 11 day's and counting

PS.Paul is you ATF clear like KY ?

Ah Gosh um what do I say now, oh is that the time already, been nice talking to you.

Actuallly just kidding about the ATF, EP 90 is better.

I'm a bit slow but it is starting to make sense now, , ATF, EP90, KY, Massage Oil , Big Ones, :o . Paul ------ your first 4WD trip, , your a 4WD VIRGIN, don't worry we will be gentle with you, just try and relax I can assure you you are with a very experienced team. As for your HUBS, with the weather the way it is I would say to put them in at the bottom of PORTERS PASS.

IT'S THAT COLD I DON'T THINK THERE WILL BE TO MANY BIG ONES,

FITZY.

In two wheel drive of course.
Keep smiling Bro. Shaping up to being a good trip. I have plenty of loose screws as well so we shouldn't be short.

Janet is looking forward to catching up with lucy and you as well.
