98 Jeep Cherokee Diesel (Starter Motor access?)

Hi there . Just keen to find other current Owner / Drivers of 98 model Jeep Cherokee with the "VM MOTORI" 2.5 Turbo Diesel engine . Ihave one or two repair issues and there is No Repair Manual available for this engine unless someone can confirm that one of the Range Rover engine options utilised this same Donk.??. I've had the Heads off and repaired but now may need to remove the Starter Motor and it dont look easy..

I have been told by 2 different owners that had this job done that the engine comes out to service the starter.
1 was done at wgtn chrysler and 1 was done at the P/North agent

Thanks for the info JTOP , Deep down I think that prospect has crossed my mind. I've been given an estimate of 1200 semolians to do the job but not being one who is able to balance the equation of money versus wasted time , I'm thinking of applying the same blind determination that enabled me to get the heads off myself and having a go at it in situ...
I'll post my results for others who may be tempted.
