lpg

I havent done an LPG conversoin, but i bought a Landcruiser with LPG already installed. It runs really well on the lpg, and also burns a lot cleaner, leaving me with that lovely golden oil longer, (kinda a bit darker now:) i hear its good also off road as the angles that you can get on can affect carbies when running on petrol, but not lpg.

mine is a duel fuel, so it still has the petrol system in it, which will come in handy for longer trips in the bush where lpg is not available, (although ive heard of guys taking extra bbq lpg bottles with a little hook up system, not sure how safe or easy this is to do.)

a way to reduce costs if you are planning on doing an lpg conversion is to find a second hand tank which has had its 10 yearly pressure test done not so long ago, giving you years more motoring without a pressure test needed.

another thing to think bout would be the whole, duel or dedicated thing, if your planning on doing long bush trips, you might want to keep the petrol system in there.

also lpg runs a lot dryer than petrol, so, the valves need protection against premature valve seat recession.but you can fit an upper end lubricating system to stop that problem, Flashlube valve-saver is one brand i know of that make this product and injects it straight into the inlet manifold. (Flashlube ph 09 263 0021, fax 09 262 1463). Or ive been told, that you can just run the engine on petrol once a month or so to lube it all up.

well, i managed to tell you a lot except how much it would cost.
