CB arial help

Post by 4X4BEAST »

Hi guys,
I have just purchased a uhf cb radio and need to know of any issues when choosing a position for the arial, I also have a normal radio arial on the front L/H gard and an AM CB arial on the front R/H gard. Are there any issues with having one arial close to another??

Cheers,
Brian.

i think from memory min spacing for UHF is 450mm from another aerial, mounting will depend on the type of aerial, if it has a built in groundplane device (looks like a 20mm thick tube at base about 20cm long) it can go just about anywhere on truck the higher the better, if it needs a groundplane (large metal suface) it should be mounted to something steel ie bullbar bonnet roof etc for best reception. see aerial manufacturers web page or try: http://www.mobileone.com.au/
Cheers
