SIMEX

Post by Rangerat »

Hi all
Question for the day.
I currently run Simex JT2's 33x11.5x15 was looking at going to Simex 35x10.5x15 Centipede's.
Reading up on all the info,(dia measurements from Simex) I came across the interesting fact that the 35 is only 14mm greater in diameter than my 33's and in fact the 33's measure out to 34.25" v the 35's 34.75" mmmmmmm.
Bearing in mind it looks like I will not gain any diameter to talk off, is the Centipede's performace that much better than the JT2's.

Personal observation is not, but, can only compare how I go compared to 35 Cent shod wagons (different makes)

would like to hear others opinion.(especailly if you have run both type of tyre on the same wagon)

Cheers

Hey Rat,

I have the 34X10.5 JT2's and I have driven rangies with the 35 ET's.

It goes without saying that these are both great tyres.

When it comes to traction and mud flinging ability I believe the ET's do have an edge over the JT2's. I think it is simply down to the substantial voids in the ET which can move a lot of earth.

Downside is that they are directional and so you have to be a little clairvoyant to know which side you are going to puncture...

Or carry two spares :?

Any idea on the offset required to clear 35's. as it is, I've had to adjust the steering stops for the 33's as they hit the trailing arms.
I don't want to lose any more lock.

I pick up the 35's on thursday  and have already sold the 33's.

Rat = more rubber, more power.

Hey Rat, What rims are you running, if steel have a look at getting them reversed. With an additional 50mm offset you might find you will get a lot of lock back, even with 35's. I have 255x85x16 on reversed disco rim's and still have plenty of clearance to trailing arms with out the stops adjusted at all.
Just a thought,
Kevin
