Post by kicker »

hey just been looking around on the net, wondering if anyone has used or looked into the ifs lift kits companies such as rocky mountain have to offer. Would they be certifiable in NZ, some of them are quite well priced. if anyone has any information would be appreciated.

Generally speaking if you run over a 33" tire on a IFS front diff you will destroy it offroad.
The 4-5" IFS lifts use drop brackets to lower the front diff canceling out the front clearance gains from larger tires. And you don't really gain any suspension travel .

Nice for a road shiney though.

if its ya road truck, guessing you just want it looking huge with big tyres.. it should be fine with a spring lift and a big (80mm ish) body lift that should get you enough room to clear some 35's (just make sure you fold the seams inside the gards)
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experiance!

I have some diffs that a mate regeared at work and some 38' swampers so im wanting to go a lil bigger than that, im thinkin 4'' lift kit and 3.5'' body lift. i saw it done in oz when i was living there but have never seen one of the kits used over here.

wow im interested to see it and the build. It does seem like a bit of a waste just having it as a street truck though..
