Re: tractor tyres
just looking at that vid, those tractor tyres seem to work better at low crawling speeds. in some of those situations i would just be nailing it!

Re: tractor tyres
i've got a set i picked up from a bloke in dunedin early last year. Dunlop Terra-Grip 29 x 12.5 x 15
they're pretty perished and cracked etc, but with tubes in them there's no problem. I used them on my Suzuki till i parked it in february. Being 1000cc there's not really much question of spinning them, but at low speed or caning into a mud hole, they work really well.
I've found they're most effective on slightly wet grass - if it's dry, like in a Hawkes bay drought, you're going for a skate
The rims have been widened to fit them, IIRC they measure up at 15 X 11 with a zero offset. I used them on the beach up coromandel to try and retrive the old man's boat and trailer, but the poor little engine just stalled. too much grip. By itself it was great.
On road, it's just like free-wheeling a tractor down a hill. Bumpy. as. f***. I haven't been game to take them over 40km/h.
They might be up for sale soon if i can find a set of (cheap!) 33's to suit the new hilux diffs/rims. I paid $600 all up after shipping, and i've put 2 new tubes in them @ $90 each

Re: tractor tyres
My understanding and it may be wrong, is that tractor tyres are not road legal because there is no centre ring of lugs to stop them sliding side ways through a corner. All there grip is straight ahead.
Before using them on the road I would take a closer look at the law incase of liability if you have an accident.
Cheers Richard
