my one ( 89 2.8 tdi) is done, think he rings are gone and lots of other things.

has anyone here put new motors in there isuzus? or know where to get em?
any advice would be great.

If you use the wrong rings (which appear to be the rings every parts supplier in NZ wants to sell you) then you'll have trouble with the liners and rings chewing into each other.
But this isn't the liners fault, it's bad parts selection.
I tend to trust Isuzu over local engine rebuilders on this one, my hard earned lessons showed me why. WIth cast-iron liners and chrome rings the economy dropped 15% and it started smoking.
I went back to chrome liners, but used the aftermarket rings that came with the piston kit, they chewed apart in 27,000km. I still have the pistons, rings and liners here if anyone would like to see the results.
I then went to chrome liners and genuine rings. Economy picked up, smoke disappeared and I'm a very happy camper.
