buy them off jafa they are just as cheap as they would be if you tryed to get them in your self. plus they will be here alot quicker

As long as you are not a cheap bastard (like Hiriklux) and buy the full 30 spline super set. You will not break one. They are guaranteed not to break. What you can do (as I have have found out) is completely destroy a freewheel hub gear, which in turn strips the spline off your $400 cv. Get Bobby's hub gears as well, and then the factory guarantee will run to the spline failure as well. Jafa seems to do pretty good deals on them here, or ring Terra direct in the US. They only take about 10 days to get here on std US post.
If I was building a truck from scratch, these would be at the top of the list, even before tyres (because it doesn't matter how good your boots are, if the rig is broken, you aint going no where!)

Entirely agree with Rokhound - one of the best investments you can ever make. I too have a 30spline superset under my Lux and they are the ducks guts. The Longfield hub gears are a necessity though ... as Rok has confirmed.
