R.I.P ORANGE

Post by skid »

I have been thinking about doing this for a while, but had to wait for my photos to come back to me, as they have been in storage.

Then DB got me wondering again with his latest posting effort.

So here are 36 pics of my 1975 FJ40 which was built up over a 3 year period as time and money allowed.

Unfortunately towards the end of its life with me, it was not getting much use and was in need of some TLC, so I regretably sold it, which I dearly wish I hadn't even if it wasn't getting use.

So sit back and enjoy some pics from day 1 to the last day I saw it.........................................

Nice pix and all skid.

I'm pretty attached to mine. I guess most people are to their own 4X4.

If you're missing it so much. Do you think you ever would build up another??

you put a lot of work into that skid. Is a pity you sold it. Don't think i'll ever sell mine even if it is a POS. Its a POS I built  Make sure you put this up in the new "my 4wds" section. its for past and present ones :D

40s are cool and so easy to luv

I would luv to build a road legal 45 flatdeck workhorse with all the fruit and make it BIG

but secretly in the back of my mind I have always had a desire to build up a little suzuki, either an LJ50 or 80 or 410/413 with hilux gear and a potent little 2 litre donk with all the fruit, winches, lockers etc etc etc and probably road legal or if money allowed, then a road legal spaceframe buggy.

Its all a dream at the moment, but one day I will get me another toy, one day.

yeah, I regret selling it everyday, nevermind.

I will put in my 4wds with my 80 and also my old 74 when I find pics of it, cheers

If I won lotto I swear I'd buy it back, just to keep the first one I ever built.

A suzuki would be cool I recon skid.
If I got bored with my 40 i think I'd get Rick at 4WD Accessories to build me up one of those Jeep Wranglers with Nissan Partol running gear powered with a LS2.
The one he's almost finished is a mean looking thing.

So where did your 40 go? Was it a local buyer? (Welly)

This is such a great post Skid, there's nothing as cool as seeing the evolution of a truck, from day one until it's something truly unique.

Hope you get another toy soon.

I agree, a lot of work has gone in, and always sad to lose a "member of the family"

That nissan was really stuck...still...it was quite funny he attempted that lake..considering we all knew how deep it was, but obviously he didnt..ha.

Im glad you liked it skid.
