80 series suspension

will a 2inch lift be enough to run 33 inch tyres? . Still want to get the truck in the garage !! . Its my new truck just sold the old 70 series and want to run the 33's rims which were on that.

I did exactly the same thing as you, bought an 80 and put the 33s off my BJ74 onto it.

Be a good as with 2" lift and 33's,i have a 3" lift and now have 35's on mine they seem to be fine

Is there much that needs to be done with a 3" lift? Castor correction? Brakelines? Spacers?

It wasn't a problem at all,casters needed to be done,brake lines were fine,i think 3" is about as far as you can go without having to do to many mod's..i put old man emu suspension through mine the ony problem i had was the shocks they sent for the 3" were to long allowing the springs to be loose when fully extended so i put in the shocks for the 2" lift which fixed the problem

of those of you who have given your 80 a lift, did you find it raised the back slightly higher than the front and if so , did you put coil spacers in or anything like that.

I only ask coz, I've seen a few lifted 80s that are slightly higher in the arse.

Yes that does seem to be the case but that suited me fine as i tow a 25'ft caravan with mine,plus a load of gear on the back,i'm going to put poly air bags on mine in the near future to help sag

My 80 is on standard suspension and the arse is a lot higher then the front but that's how they are, load bearing capabilities - towing etc.

Went and got a price for 2" lift kit today (ome) $1280, Sound about right? What else is there, efs looks to have similar price, but haven't really heard of them.

Yes that would be about right,i think i paid about $1400 for mine [ 3" suspension lift ]
I do like the OME Stuff they do work well

That 7 inches clearance in the garage I had , has got me worried. Also a ques . Does "b" springs( which is slightly longer ) go on the passaenger side? no instructions, but guessing our road camber this is the case.

. Put the kit in this afternoon, looks good, glad I put the longer front springs in , back is still a little higher when m/t , but no where as bad as some of the other cruza's I've seen. I'll give it a week to settle , then get the caster checked , seems to drive about same as before thru. fits in the garage and man what a 100% improvement, old springs looked real crap once they were out.
