1990 5-dr Widebody Bighorn w. dead donk

Post by SupraLux »

Well, as some of you know the fickle finger of fate has taken my new toy and broken it.

Its a '90 5-door wide body (big factory flares) with a snorkle, manual Aisin hubs, Irmscher bits (heated recaros etc), 5-speed, 2.8TD (Suspected overheat, turns over will not fire), big bore front-to-back exhaust, alloy wheels and mud tyres (borderline warrantable possibly) and alloy with good spare.

Body is in ok-good cond, blue. The interior is really tidy, apart from the light smell that someone in the past was an in-car smoker.

Its in Christchurch, NZ...

I will either sell the whole truck complete for $1500, or will part it out. I'm not in a hurry (well, not in as much of a hurry as my wife is ) so will wait about a week. If there is no interest in taking the whole truck away for repower or rebuild then I will begin stripping it and sending its bits and pieces all over the country as required

If you are interested then please give me a shout on 021 637 600 or steve@4wdstuff.co.nz or leave a message here

Oh, and the motor is definitely dead, not just a loose wire or something simple... I'm pretty sure I lost coolant on a drive into town and didn't notice, probably through a split hose or frostplug then it just died on me... thought I'd better clarify that... it will need replacing or rebuilding... I have neither the time nor the space to do it.. too many other projects :D

Cheers

360,000km on the clock... and assuming it had 100,000 wound off it when it was first imported then god knows :P Some trucks have 100kms on the clock and look like they've done 500, this is the opposite.

Its pretty tidy, and mechanically everything seems fairly straight. The 5-speed is in pretty good knick by the feels of having driven it for a few weeks and all around is pretty straight. Its got new brake pads all round and the brakes seemed pretty good.

I've got to talk to the insurance company about a new windscreen... it doesn't need one I think but there is a chip in it, and I was paying for windscreen cover so I may as well have it replaced while its still a WOF and reg going concern...

Any other questions, please ask.

I'm moving sheds, and telling no-one... and the raid needs to be on Riks place anyway, most of my stuff is on his mobile parts carryer (his 'lux! )

No nibbles thus far, so heres a list of parts I can figure I will sell immediately with prices (negotiable if you bring beer :P)

Note: What I'm trying to do here is recover as much of what I originally paid for the truck (about 4-5 weeks ago! sigh...) as possible, and to help pay for the new one I just bought - which very well could be the next project looking at the cool factory suspension in the rear... I am open to offers on things, so let me know if you need something and let me know what you want to pay for it :)

snorkle: $200 - airflow, think it could be a safari one
alloys (16" with marginal mud tyres on them): $100
seats $300 to Matt or Rik, $100 to anyone else (Recarro with bum-heater)
Interior trim in good nick: offers
rear axle w. diff (4.5 prob): $150
Rear brake calipers with mech. handbrake actuators: $100/pr
2.5" complete exhaust system, good nick: $100
Turbo and intercooler + plumbing: $150
Injector pump - NOT leaking: $150
radiator: $50
Front diff, CVs, etc: $100
Aisin manual hubs: $150
Dead motor - good for rebuild?: free (short motor)
Alternator, good pump: $150
Starter: $80
5-speed and t/c: $200

Anything else, just ask :)
