suzuki head gasket

Post by Heath »

Is there any wonder why zuks crack their heads. Look at the crappy flow we zuk owners must get with these gaskets.

Most of the flow has to go through these little holes and you can see the actual shape of the water courses. Hell some of the holes arent even there or just line up (one was 50% obscured). Maybe we should use a hole punch and remove more material before fitting?

actually thats not the reason they crack heads, its because the front pipes are blocked up on 90% of them. You try running about with a cork up your rear and just see how long you function fine........

Some people may actually enjoy that.

Yeah I know about the exhaust fault on vitara's but figure this wont help things either and the combo of the two is just asking for trouble.

Be carefull opening out water holes in the gasket without good reason. You will probably find the holes are actully like that to controll the water flow through the engine and keep the temperature even across the head.

Notice there are more & larger holes in the top left of the pic than the bottom right.

As i understand it the exaust manifold pipes are double skinned , the internal skin colapses causing alot more heat build up around the head, this leads to the head cracking .The most common way to fix the problen is to put extractors on .
