What happened to the Pitbulls?

Post by lneil »

Okay, I'm sure I saw a thread on the new pitbull tyres, and was interested in hearing about them. Am I confused, or has it disappeared??

correct, have to kick it in the butt otherwise every company in nz that deals with 4wd stuff will think they can advertise in here and I dont want ore to be spammed and filled with advertisements. After all I don't run these forums to make other people rich

So how do we let each other know about new stuff? There was a thread about airlockers, now I realise it wasn't started by the guy selling them but he does give them abit of promotion during the course of the thread, i don't see how this is any different to the "Pitbull" thread. If this is going to be a problem then we need to have "somewhere" for this sort of thing to go, I'd hate to go a buy a set of tyres (or anything else for that matter) and then find out a few days later that there was another choice i didn't know about. I thought this site was about sharing info on 4WDing and its related accessories?
I wonder what would have happened if this had been a guy selling upgrades for Rover 3.9 EFI motors

Bit of a grey area for Rob posting the pitbull tyres coz he is a forum member and although he dosent post a lot he has come out on quite a few of our welly trips over the past couple of years and he's always looked after us guys around here with good discounts and deals in his tyre shop without asking for anything in return.... shit I remember when I spent the whole day getting in the way of his paying customers in his workshop fitting my beadlocks he even shouted me lunch (cheers Rob)

Disclaimer:
usual stuff about not questioning the decision to pull the thread etc

I know its a grey area and i do my best to try and keep it advertising free. talk is one thing but promotional threads and order taking threads just open the door to every other business. The vendors section is where this stuff goes and ive told rob and jafa this. Hopefully it will be up soon but given the fact that i have quite a bit going on at the moment its not going to be tomorrow

And of course anyone selling rover shit can have free rain over ore, did you expect anything else jase  still waiting on chops to pm those addresses!

You thinking a set may look good under one or two of the Zuks??
that'd be impressive, may need a bit more body massaging to fit them though :D

Hi guys
I've heard theres a Rallywoods working bee on Saturday, I'm happy to bring my truck out so you can see a couple if you want.

And as mike says, the last thing we want to see on here is a flood of advertising where it shouldn't be, appoligies if there was a feeling I put the tyres on for that purpose, my intent was really just to let everyone know something new has arrived.
Cheers

Rob, you are the quintessential gentleman.

Can I at least see a photo of them on your truck, If i promise NOT to buy a set then it's not advertising, is it?

I have just acquired a set of Pitball Growlers (quote by Topgear "if your nice I'll show you my growler...s") from my good friend Rob...and now I'm just waiting on my rims to get beadlocked so I can throw them on the 40 and give them a good thrashing! Although the beadlocking may take a few weeks...I'll let you know how they go.

I'm sure you have a suitable size hammer to assist with the body-massaging smurf! I do know that Brittany is going to take a lot of convincing about anything other than the silverstone extremes which we really want to try on the 'zuk when it's grown up enough.

I was going to go for the Silverstones for the Surf but they weren't available at the time, Sound like a good tyre, other than possibly wearing a little fast on the road, which wouldn't be an issue under a Zuk
I got too good a deal on the Creepys in the end
