DIFF OIL PUMP

Hope this is the right place to put this thread..

I'm wondering if anyone knows where you can buy those pumps that fit into 5 litre oil containers,they just screw into the top,really good for pumping in diff oil [ i've seen them in Aussie ] Not sure if you can get them here,i checked out supercheap and Repco but nothing there,they did know what i was talking about though

Didnt know you could get them for 5l containers, do they fit on a take home container? I've got a pump for a 20l steel container

Ive got a massive syringe that i use for things like diffs....also good for sucking fliuds out of things.
Its about 50mm in diameter & 300 long....the syringe that is lol

Caould a sump pump, cause you can't get to the sump on a yacht and they then fit the container cause you can't pour it in the top

Yes they fit into the take home container,they just screw into the top,very similar to the 20 litre one except smaller

might try the boating people the have all sorts there

oh and Saddam they work on a 5L container as well....... (you just stick the end thingy into the hole thingy in the top of the oil container thingy and then use the handle thingy to put the oil thingy into the thingy.

The term suction pump or suction gun will most likely get you one.

Before you buy, open it up (unscrewing the end) and look to make sure the plunger rubber is backed by a rigid plate for strength. Also if you can, check to make sure that there is two contacting rubber surfaces against the main body otherwise if there is a weakness there at the rubber when pushing heavy diff oil (80/90 or 90) through it you'll get a heap of oil by-passing the rubber and coming out the other end =- messy and expensive.

Thanks again Windsock....thats what happened with the suction gun i have now [ the one like a grease gun ] bloody oil all over the place

and another thing I learned was to always make sure the nozzle is unscrewed before you start pumping

Yep, been there done that. Got my bad one from Ripco Soon learned to look at the guts of the next one...
