My 2 cents worth which others will disagree with is.

70 series Cruisers have big diffs and are heavy and you want to use them on the road. This rules out a Cross Ply like the simex or silerstones

I personally would go for a 33x12.5 radial to spread the weight. Before buying one measure it because they vary from 31.5 to33 inch high. You need the maximin height because of the big diff size.

I dont think there is much in the tread pattern. the main thing is low pressure off road . I personally run BFGs because they are reasonably true to size and have 3 plys where most have 2.

I have a near new set of savero mud terains that are on my Range rover up for grabs, they are 33x12.5x15 great tyre's. i just want to go to 35"

If its one set of tyres for everything then go for radial mud terrain tyres. Simex and Silverstone are bias ply, they will give a cr_p ride on the ride and wear out quickly. There are lots of muddies in 33, Maxxis have buckshot mudder and bighorn, Wranglers have a good following for some terrains, Nankang, Sumitomo is cheap and worked well in snow, Nankang is cheaper again, Kumho have a couple of treads and ripme has a few listings.

As for tread patterns and preferences everyone you ask will have a different opinion, if you have time go with the local club and see whos tyres work in the local conditions and remember that worn tyres are never as good as something straight from the tyre shop.
