Square tube steel wanted

Post by Mattman »

Looking to purchase some 75x75x2.5mm or thereabouts thickness, SHS, approx 2m in length. Also a small section of plate steel about the same thickness, approx 300mm square would be enough.

I am located in Wellington. Have rung around a number of shops, most steel places only do 8m lengths and most engineering shops don't do anything this thin.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. I am going to make a throttlebody adapter for my 1UZ.

Cheers
Matt.

I've brought 50x50 box section in that thin wall section from Steel and tube in seaview, they call it furniture grade or something like that. Yeah it only comes in 8m lengths but you could always pop in there and ask the guys in the warehouse about the chance of any offcuts or shorts.... if not you'll have a 6m lenght to list on trademe

Thanks guys - was trying to avoid having to buy an 8m length which is the minimum that most sell.
