Navara

Post by rockyman »

Hey guys i just need some help with a truck, i don't know enough about it so was wondering if someone could shed some light on it. I was just wondering how much power one of these has as i want to be able to chuck the 4 wheeler on the back with all my other gear to go hunting, also wanting to know how economical one of these is and how good it's built.

link of the truck below

dont know in stock 4wd trim....but i have a 2wd that i fitted with terrano motor, goes alot better, have gain a few more boost psi through a custom exhaust and pod filter on intake.

they are rated at 60kw non turbo and 100kw with turbo...how accurate that is i dont know.

if you wanted more power, you could do a few simple mods and get abit more from it.

economy...i get about 10l/100 km...again,im running road tires and 2wd so how 'yours' would go ,im not sure of.

one of the main things with navaras is rust under the cowl panel so check that out.....also the bottoms of the guards by the door....open door and have a look down the bottom there.

pays to check the door sills too.i found mine was full of water and it wasnt draining out till i drilled a hole at both ends of sill....they tend to comonly rust out aswell

the wof expires on 11th February 2009 for that vehicle.
rego expires 2nd September 2008....in 5 days
road users ends at 199,304..it went for a wof check on on 11th augus August and has 198,820 on it..

as far as the running gear goes...its all pretty much the same as a terrano.if you ever need to replace anything.

hope that is of some help

my navara is the non turbo tow my new toy (cj4 jeep) plus spare back from gore to christchurch a while back towed ok guess i added 2 21/2 tons to kerb weight was only in first twice getting out of dunedin and then a cople of ks down the road mine oraginal with 376,000ks on the clock used 23 ltrs diesl from dunedin to timaru about 200 ks not bad with that load
me thinks
they ain't a rocket ship but should be ok for what your looking for
cant get in to t/me but if nz new they are on 16" factory and 30x9.5 15 is the biggest tyre you can fit on 15 rims and got to watch the 15"rims don't rub on the calipers some offsets do
my thoughts and experiance anyway
