8274 for swap

Post by nzhunter »

Hi everyone,

I've got a warn 8274 hi mount winch that I want to swap for a warn xd9000 or similar not a crappy Chinese one though.

The reason I'm wanting to swap is i just bought a new aliarc bar with a winch mount, but its going to take quite a bit to modify it to fit the 8274 due to the mounting of the 8274 on the front of the winch, so thought it would just be easier to get the correct winch for the bar

Winch is in good cond, I pulled it apart changed the oil and resealed it using 3bond. comes with remote and heaps of wire on it

I'm near Hamilton. PM, txt or reply here

Cheers, DAN

i have a 9000 come up/premier winch.it has done a bit of work. last year repacked the planetry gears and cleaned out the motor brushes and bearing are mint was going to rear mount it but went to pto instead. was keeping it for next project but will swap it if it helps you out.

cheers Rohan

ps its planetry gearing is 1;150 approx at 4.5hp motor
draws approx 250amps at full load if i can remember correctly.
it pulled my cruiser around well

double cheers

hi there im more inclined in swappimg as i will still need a electric winch for my next truck. i will be mid mounting the winch so im not fussy on weather its a hi or low model type of winch. it has to be a good brand as the chiense models that i have seen are slow and use a lot of battery current compared to the more expensive brands.
have a think and let me know as my winch is only sitting in the garage waiting for its next vechile
cheers Rohan

Sounds good Rohan where abouts are u?

Its 12volt

Theres a couple of things with the winch. First its quite old maybe 8-10years old but you can still buy parts for it easily from warn as its been unchanged for years. Also it doesn't have a freespool only winch in or out.

Info on the Warn 8274 found here
