Surf bullbar on a terrano

Post by Armz »

Has anyone tryed doing it, Is it much effort?

My neighbour totaled his 1992 surf and as offered me his rather nice bullbar, I think it could be an Arlic? one or sumthing its alloy i no that much, its got the mounts n that for a winch as well.

my question is, how much work will it be to fit it on my 1992 terrano, bearing in mind the only power tool i own is a drill lol cuz im a poor uni student. also roughly how much is a second hand bullbar worth anyway, ie how many boxes of beer shuld even the score

trust me mate mounting a bullbar to a terrano thats not of a terrano is a major!!...... i modified a patrol one(steel) to fit my terrano, easier with steel to cut and weld to fit.... make sure its the right width etc.....and you probly want to get an engineer to make new brackets to bolt to your chassis rails as the terrano bumper mounts arent that flash

hope this helps

by the way, would you be interested in some lift springs for your terrano?

I'll give you 2 boxes

Best thing is to remove your existing bumper and have a look at how this new one will fit in there and what modifications you will need to do.
The bumper isnt too hard to remove, there are 2 bolts securing each of the 2 bumper irons. Loosen the two top ones and remove the two lower ones and jiggle it off.
Remove the indicators from the bumper first.
I have done a post on here of my winch mounting on the Terrano, (do a search for it), and you will see what I mean about the bumper irons.

Yell out if you need any other suggestions/ideas.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

I will get you some pics tonight. Hang onto that winchbar all the same. I may be interested in it yet.
