Thanks Sadam

Lets put it this way - Skid earned some beer credits from me.

Anyone have some PTO shear pin recommendations? Kind of getting a tiny bit sick of fitting pins just to have them break at the slightest load - a mere 3 tons! :x :x

So far concrete nails and 8/8 bolts have been suggested as pin replacements.

Does anyone know the rating of the gear box drive cogs and the drive shafts i.e. where is the next weak point?

I told you Rick, concrete nails. I have used them for 20 odd years on PTO winches, with no ill effect on any part of the system. And yes, they will shear, but under a more realistic load than the standard pins. Just get the size that will fit through the hole snugly, then give the end a slight bend with pliars to stop it falling out.

I used to use a 10.2 cap screw, ya drive shaft will break first then
