Cant bring a truck, but with this amount of warning I should be able to arrange coming up if someone could put up with a pretty incompetent passenger with a warped sense of humour.

Note: I'm a cheap date (can't drink bugger all, due to medical reasons other than just falling over.)

Clarification: That says pretty incompetent, definitely NOT pretty, & incompetent (just in case anyone was wondering) as those who have met me will undoubtedly attest to.

I haved kindly offered my services to the asian fulla to help him organise this event.


I was initially thinking of hard stuff like widowmaker/hells bells etc etc etc

but seeing how many of you are keen, I think that some lesser tracks may be in order.



one of you asked why it was necessary to have a winch in your team

coz you will need it



for those of you that know the area, what tracks were ya thinking of ??

I'm thinking of using tracks that haven't been frequented for some time now, just to liven it up a bit.

Will have to talk to my fellow conspirator person thingy about this

do only the hard track because its a winch challange sorta event, and if nissan way etc are the tracks well thats to easy, thats all drivable as, so lets do widow maker, maybe diff dinger? but thats easy

my old 410 drove it easy with back locker, my current truck drives it with no lockers or fiddle brakes and dads truck drive it with the back locker, and if i could drive it when i had my 410 then it cant be hard, its just a retard proof track thats why jerry cant drive it

maybe my bearings are wrong, but when I walked/crawled up it on sunday, the steps seemed fairly big to me and slippery to boot. I guess we'll just have to wait and watch one day.

There seems to be a lot of shyt going on in this thread now.. Widowmaker is NOT to be used, Hells bells is not drivable either, END OF STORY!

Mitch and Turoa, just because your trucks can drive it doesn't meant that others can, remember some people don't drive national trials trucks and they don't want to either, nor do they have the money to throw at their trucks. Some people look at some of the tracks and think I can't drive that, this is what Jerry and Skid are getting at (Jerry & Skid, please correct me if I am wrong there but this is the way I have read it).

Jerry, that is called Allies way and that would be a good track to add in... as for the other tracks, I have a lot of them mapped on Google Earth, let me know if you want the maps.

Now, lets cut the shyt and get back to the nature of the post, a winch challenge for people that want to do it, note they don't need to be national trials trucks either.

March is fine, if the others can't make it because of other events, this won't be the only one, there will be others! If we go too big the first time people will not want to do it again because "it was shyt, they couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery etc, etc".

I am keen on this as well, so I am looking for two other team members, I don't care what trucks they are and I have a winch as well, might need a navi as well, not 100% sure on this yet though!

i agree if the event caters soley for well proven 4wds then the lesser wont ever want to do it again, some tracks challenge some 4wds and other tracks challenge others... get a good mix of tracks from the ones we can use and dont ever forget
